No amount of retouching or fiddling with focus can compensate for the dead look in the model's eyes. That philosophy doesn't do anything for your port or hers. But I agree with others no3 is the one out of the four. Or are you paying these models independently and their agency never sees the images. I can't imagine a booker not freaking out over the quality. I am fine with that agents assessment but good stylists ( who will work on a collaborative and creative basis ) are hard to find where I live ( way harder than good models , or good MUAs ) Aug 18 14 08:40 pm Link I think at this point I am done with this thread Thank You to all that contributed and I have taken some of your suggestions to heart in reworking the images Aug 18 14 09:27 pm Link Garry k wrote: Gary, people are trying to help you. Aug 20 14 12:29 pm Link I'm going to be somewhat blunt. I study body language and consider myself very good at it. From what I read in these photos, the model either hates you, or you are are over directing her. (I think it's the latter) You should trust professionals to do what they do. I know when I am being over directed, the photos are some of my worst. I am so much better at posing than photographers are at posing people. That's true for most professional models. Ggive it a try and encourage her personality to come out. Resist the urge to over direct. Be fun and likable and she will feel at ease enough to show you her personality. Check out the work of Jorge Kriemer from LA. He doesn't care about hair or makeup. He has a simple setup, but his photos are simply amazing. He is trying to capture raw emotion and each model's unique personality. He does a damn fine job of it too. Compare side by side and see the difference. This will only work if you're honest with yourself about your work, and how you are connecting with your models. The technical ability is there. I think your photos can improve a ton just by how you are interacting with the models. Can't wait to see the results! Aug 21 14 12:21 am Link |
