As usual, I'm suffering through a spell of insomnia and can't seem to fall asleep. Instead of trying to lay down, I looked around on the site for a bit and saw that the critique section could be really helpful to me. I was curious and wanted to know what people thought of my portfolio as is. It's not much but I might as well see if I'm headed in the right direction! smile

As a model you have a great look
[Arch back when possible]
Think this would be a good avatar

Most of my comments would be more about the photography then your modeling
Here is my check list when selecting photos for your portfolio
1)    If you show the elbow and or knee it usually works best to include the feet and hands
[Note: it is ok to crop above the knees or elbow]
2)    Make sure building and horizons are not tilted
3)    Your eyes should be in sharp focus

Wish you well

Thank you so much!! That was actually really helpful smile I appreciate it a lot. I do have back problems but that doesn't make up for not toughing it out for the camera. Thank you for pointing that out. I am also getting together with better photographers so hopefully that'll fix the photography aspect of my portfolio. Thank you for giving me a better idea of what a great portfolio looks like instead of just a "good" one. Wishing you good luck in all your endeavors smile

It's always appreciated when beginner photographers can work with models, they need to learn and gain experience too, but it wouldn't hurt your portfolio to work with more experienced photographers also.

You do have great eyes
So what can you tell me about the models left hand [imagine if instead of the space behind your back both your hands were in the photo, this would also move your head from the center of the photo to the right photo 1/3 point]
Due to your pose you have lost appearance of your neck

https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/140829/21/540155902b8c0_m.jpg
Are you arching your back?
What do you notice at the top of your head; see where the sign appears to be growing from? [Trees, signs, telephone poles are the curse of photographers]
It is a great look, but material is gathered at midsection so models shape is lost

You are simply adorable in this image
Models pose, notice bulge in upper arm? [The fix move elbow toward camera a slight amount] Lowering the shoulder toward camera will lengthen appearance of neck
Here is your assignment for this photo, make a print out, get some sheets of paper and try some different crops, try covering up green area photo left just to the edge of the wall, then cover up all the brick to photo right of first vertical column. If you like the new look which show cases you more ask your photographer if he would adjust the cropping for you
[The crop that appears in your avatar is perfect]

Watch what you wear under your clothes, in this you have something telegraphing at models left hip

https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/140826/11/53fcd2456e82c_m.jpg
Try to keep your hair under control when ever possible, in this photo it is breaking at your right shoulder
[Hum, I wonder if you lowered your right shoulder if your neck would appear longer what do you think?]

For me tilted photos work some times and not others, the one where you appear to be falling on your face is not working for me

Theses newimages are the strongest photos in your portfolio; you have upped your game
I wish you much success!
