I just got an inbox on here and I sent this company called Maven cosmetics an e-mail because they said they needed models that. Has anyone heard of this company?

Avoid contacts that immediately want you to send an email to either themselves or some 3rd party!

Check references, validity, before responding in any fashion other than Mayhem.

Since you replied with your email, you may get others. Don't respond to unsolicited outside emails.

I checked and there is a maven cosmetics, but I wasn't sure if it had to do with this one. And I read on here b4 that fake e-mails use generic e-mails like yahoo, gmail, etc. not a business. This one said [email protected]. I'm still not sure.

https://www.searchlock.com/search?q=maven+cosmetics produces 4 citations, one in Toronto, two in Chicago and one in San Diego, that appear to be legitimate small operations, but not enough information to rely on.

If you received the inquiry through MM it might be a good idea to CAM the entire message via the link at the bottom left corner of the message.  You should also mention this thread at the same time.

If the original message came from outside Model Mayhem, (through facebook for example) then there's little the MODs can do, but I would question any inquiry from a very small company that distance from you.  At the very least you should read https://www.modelmayhem.com/po.php?thread_id=575330 very carefully.

All IMHO as always.

lol I kept in mind that thing about them having a business e-mail and apparently the scammers are getting smarter and having more realistic looking e-mail addresses.
