Hi guys,

I'm planning to have an underwater photoshoot in the ocean. What products (foundation, mascara, blush, etc.) can you recommend to use?

I don't trust the regular "waterproof" mascara for example, because some of them don't even last a shower.

Thanks and best regards,
Lisa

Lisa, trust you have a support team to assure the safety of the talent involved...
This is not to be ignored...

That said, salt water is likely to do a number on any product...
Ben Nye has a product call Final Seal which I hesitate to recommend because of issues with allergic reactions especially with the agent used to remove it...

However I don't believe it can be shipped abroad...

Therefore might I recommend TEMPTU S/B airbrush product it is tenacious and will last up to twenty minutes (in fresh water)

That's a tough one. There isn't a lot, that is truly reliable.

I know I am late in answering but in the future Make Up For Ever's Aqua line is amazing for underwater. The Canadian Synchro team wears it for their competitions.

+1.  I second that too. I've used the Aqua and it's amazing.  the only challenge is salt water which is something I don't have answer for.

I have yet to do an underwater photoshoot; however, I will say what has worked for my one-time personal underwater "adventure."  One summer I was at a cookout and was dared to jump in the pool fully-clothed (full makeup and everything).  I jumped in, swam around, and the only items STILL on my face after getting out of the pool were (I took a selfie):

- MAC Paint Pot (I used the color Indianwood on my eyes), I love Paint Pots and I use them often as eyeshadow bases on models

- MAC Pro Longwear Foundation + Pro Longwear Concealer (obviously this would never be used for a photoshoot due to the SPF in the foundation, but I figure I'd still note it).

- Surprisingly not all of my mascara was washed away (Covergirl LashBlast Waterproof), and there was no smearing until I started rubbing my eyes later on

- My eyebrows were still on, NYX Brow Pencil (I believe it's wax based)

*In the end, I'd highly suggest the MAC Paint Pots, as the other products may or may not work, especially if the model has to keep being re-submerged into the water over and over again.
