Models left hand cropped off
Out of focus models left knee is a distraction [Just a big black object blocking view of her midsection]
The lime green chair is a distraction, if the legs were not covered by black material they could possibly hold their own against the chair
Black background is tilted and distracting; better if it were way out of focus
Because the models left arm is tucked tight into her body you have lost the shape of her mid section as well
Models chin seems tucked in and tense, model also has minimal expression

In this photo the model has a lot of life and looks relaxed

Wish you well

+1

This photo also alludes to why tattoos on models are a bad idea. Her entire left upper arm starts fading into the dark backdrop. Models with tattoos really have to be the right way or parts of them start blending into the surroundings making other parts look disconnected or about to be.

I understand using the green chair. I'm not sure how else you'd shoot this woman other than by keeping it a little bit "rock and roll" and the green chair contributes to though without your green tag in the photo I could see how there might be some problem with balance otherwise. I'd like a little bit looser crop and to be able to see into the blacks more. Her head tucked back is making her look a little bit manly. It would be nice to see more neck.

Happy shooting!

The photograph is actually not bad. I think it's good.
BUT when I viewed the model's portfolio, YOUR photographs stand out as being her best, out of all the ones she currently has displayed.
smile

EDIT: I viewed your portfolio, and I like the direction you're going. And it seems you are improving as you go. smile WELL DONE!
May I suggest, rim lighting, and possibly back ground lighting? in addition to what you do now.

Thanks all for the critiques. I will take info into my next shoot. A little background...I chose the green chair b/c the model had a edge to her and I thought using the bold pop of green would play well with her attitude in conjunction with the dark studio. It's certainly not for everyone, but I liked the difference and color it brought to the image. smile Happy shooting!
