Hey, guys. At first I wasn't going to post in here, since when I started I was only going to do this as a hobby. But since I've been generating quite a lot of work from this site, I'm beginning to take it a lot more seriously. And I'd like to learn and get better with every shoot I have. So I'd love it if I could get some honest critiques on my pictures/profile. I had my first shoot over a year ago, but I've only really been doing this properly for about two weeks now. I've had six shoots altogether, and I just want to improve and become the best I can be. So thank you in advance, *Puts on helmet* Nia xxx Sep 20 14 01:39 pm Link AntiquityDreams wrote: you have agreat look, and terrific figure to match.I think the quality of the images in your port don't do you justice.Work with some better photographers, and definitely try to come up with one really strong headshot. IMO Sep 20 14 01:55 pm Link Many things are subjective so just because I say it doesn't mean I'm right... but... I think the black and whites would be better had they been processed better. That's the fault of the photographer. Overall I think you're doing well. You may want to consider removing some of the weaker images. Sep 20 14 08:07 pm Link All great advice ^^^^^^ I would add to take out the images with you and whoever. It is your profile and the the focus should be on you and you alone(you need to do the job yourself, they can add someone if the want/need to when your working). Same with finding a good photographer the focus should and needs to be on you, something to keep at the back of your head when viewing the work of some you may/want to work with. Your a model in need of a photographer not a photographer who wants/needs a model,, two different things. 20 images tops is all you need in you port as you get better ones replace the older ones. Pactice poses, pactice holding poses, learn your bodylines and learn how to use your lines and face. Get a full-length mirror work at it daily so it becomes habit,, then your always ready. Poses will be no problem for you but always look/find/try new ones that work for you. Until you can get them working in flux, then you only need to hold them when needed. The more work you put into yourself, the more you'll can do and the more people will want to work with you,, it is that simple. I look forward to seeing your new work. All the best EH Sep 20 14 11:57 pm Link Hey, thanks so much for everyone's words of advice so far. I shall take out some of the weaker images. I'm really greatful for all of the lovely comments, I was expecting a sugar coated version of 'give up', haha. Thank you again Nia xxx Sep 21 14 03:23 am Link The photos show a great model, but do not show case you. Higher quality photographers will quickly fix that Sep 21 14 05:47 am Link Thank you xx Sep 22 14 11:58 am Link Definitely don't listen to anybody telling you to give up. You have a great look and seem to have your posing down pretty good. But the general quality overall of your portfolio needs to be lifted and like everybody is saying, that comes with collaborating with better photographers. You have some shots that look like they could have been great but were taken down a notch by some very strange post-processing work. Sep 24 14 08:39 pm Link I agree with much of what has already been said. Have you been to the websites of major model agencies and looked at the model portfolios? I would suggest looking at the model agency ports and study your own images...compare/contrast. What do you notice that's different? The angles, lighting, poses, color, and so forth. Find the photographers that can deliver work that looks like it belongs on a major model agency website.
