H&M Callback
Ok So my kid was requested by H&M to go to a callback in NYC they know we live in florida and want me to fly into NYC. We never had an out of state callback before. I received this message from the miami agent. "We know that you submitted Kaizer to Future Faces Miami and that you live in Florida. But we wonder if you would bring Kaizer to NYC for a TOP important H&M requested CALL BACk - which means he would be seen among kids that already attended go sees and have been selected. Let us know asap and provide his recent height." Thank you, Nina I have no idea what to do is a call back should I drop everything and fly him to NYC. I mean it is H&M and they seemed to have requested him even though they know he is in FL. He has never been requested for a callback out of state. What would you do? Sep 24 14 04:26 pm Link I realize this is your agent, but if I did not know that; it sounds questionable. Still sounds questionable. 1 - your child's agent doesn't know how tall the kid is that she submitted 2 - "for a TOP important H&M requested CALL BACk" (sounds like a nigerian) 3 - H&M doesn't have anyone in Miami that can look at him?? You're going to fly to NY completely on spec and at considerable expense based on this??? Sep 24 14 04:59 pm Link Well because it is a big expense for just a call back and I told him my travel concerns and the client really likes him from everyone they have seen and called back they requested I send in a short video so they can see him moving and interacting and a shit ton of pics from all angles for the casting director to make a decision on and they will let me know if he got the booking. If he got the booking we will then have to fly into NYC for the shoot. She gave me further information about the campaign, shoot date etc. That way we don't have to travel on a maybe. They said out of state travel expenses will be reimbursed if he's booked. I was wondering because I had never heard or had an out of state callback before and was wondering if other fashion models had ever had one. Thanks everyone Sep 25 14 04:04 pm Link If you don't try, how long/hard will you regret what could have been? If you try and don't succeed, how long/hard will you regret that? Regrets for trying are usually pretty minimal. Regrets for not trying can be profound. Make the most of it. Failing that they should go with local hire, they probably are trying to paint it into a local-hire when it really is not. - Is this for print or TV? - If for TV via a Casting Director then totally not Kosher.
