Hello!

I put up a website and I was wondering what some of you thought.  If you have time, check it out and let me know what you think - does it get a point across?  Is it too much?  Is it clear?

I wanted to do something like this as opposed to a Flickr, but I'm not using it as an ultimate portfolio (with only a few select photos) - I wanted a place where I could post multiple pictures and also advertise myself.

Any constructive criticism is welcome!

Best,

A T J

I'd recommend putting all the genres under "Portfolio" for starters. And adding "About" and "Contact Me" to the main menu header.

I'd also make your genres a little more clearly defined as there is crossover all over the place. Or simply cutting down on the number of genre options and putting some of your galleries together.

Feel free to take a look at my site for what I mean: http://www.marksmithphoto.ca

And keep in mind I'm planning on putting my wedding/engagement stuff (Lifestyle/Romance) on a separate page/DBA when I get enough content.

Thank you so much!! I really appreciate your taking the time to go through my work.  I moved the About and Contact to the Home page, which I agree is much smarter!  Your website is a great example, and your work is beautiful, by the way!!

Thank you for all of your suggestions, truly!

Nice work. I like your portfolio and the general visual of the site - great portfolio, but I would suggest a few things:

- Organize the menus in a shorter list o options, as already mentioned;

- Change the menu bar from the bottom to the top. Not everybody view the site with the same resolution and for some the menu bar will disappear, requiring to scroll for get it - for some that are not aware of if they will just abandon the site;

- Make the fonts where you can click and where you can't click different. In some pages the text to the left of the picture and the menu bar are close - it creates confusion;

- In the text make a clear distinction between "ATJ Modeling Beauty & Glamour" and "ATJ Modeling" this page is "Beauty & Glamour" - you might pass a restrict message on what you do.

Hope this helps,

A great start. The font is a bit hard to read but that might just be me. I'd recommend you pay to remove the Wix ads and get your own URL name. It's a good investment and reads much more mature.

Fist off, the text is too small (or wrong font).  Doesnt stand out from the background.

On your main splash page the menu buttons are hidden at the bottom, might try putting them on the side.

Major issues:

1. The web site is not responsive. Meaning it's not accessible on mobile and tablet devices. I can't see most of the page viewing it on my ipad.

2. The "free web page by wix" all over the page immediately says to me that you're not invested enough in your career.

3. Bad Search Engine Optimization keywords, content, and descriptions.

My suggestions is just to go get a wordpress web site or buy a html5/css3 responsive template off the web and get a godaddy account. It's great for beginners and will have better SEO and responsive designs. You want a web site site that is accessible, otherwise you're wasting your time.

My credentials: I've been developing web sites and applications for 13 years and am currently a creative director for a large web development and marketing company.

The polaroids section may need to be renamed or bundled in with other stuff...polaroids in the model context means no makeup shots to show you before makeup, photoshopping and such manipulation.

Watch out for nudity that is not flagged appropriately because google catches it and they can drop your whole site to avoid giving 18+ stuff to those under 18.  Btw that is why avatars on mm cant have nudity.

Might want to look into photocrati under godaddy, with your own domain name.

Good luck in your career.  Would love to shoot you if you were closer, but you are definitely doing the right thing by focusing on the college.
