I'm looking for some feedback on my portfolio. Yes I'm a newb and my port isn't perfect so I want to know what's the best and the worst photos. I'm needing to add more photos from my last shoot but I'm unsure of what photos to get rid off and since I'm not getting a lot of work off of MM I don't want to upgrade my account. Any feedback is much appreciated! Thanks Sep 29 14 01:14 pm Link I prefer 1 photo per slot, will showcase the image better Top Photo: Busy background Model too square to camera [Add dynamics place hips on angle to camera] Better to crop before first joint, in this case above models left knee [Also a crop in this photo would work above both knees] Pose of hand not the most flattering Bottom Photo: Too much noise in body of models black dress Shooting down on a model tends to make them appear short You also cropped below her knee in this photo Too much head tilt Move hair behind models left shoulder to open up neck Eyes not fully open Lower left shoulder and roll it down and back Notice in this how with the hair in back you have opened up her neck, which also make her feel more inviting Big logo is a big distraction Model seems a bit too centered; simply crop some off right side of photo Think long fingers Watch backgrounds, in this photo you have a tree coming out of her head, [One of your better images] Like the look when it was in thumb nail size But after expanding image Focus of eyes looks soft Models right elbow seems yellow Think long fingers Wish you well Sep 29 14 01:32 pm Link ^^^good advice^^^^^^ I think your off to a great start. Few things might help you get on the road you wish. One shot per shoot (the best one and that might go/not go into the port), take out mutli shots, makes it look like you cant decide what one is best. If you can't decide,, learn how to pic the best one, that is one of your jobs under the hat of photographer. I would only add to watch the lines and your crops in your images if your not sure how to do these things you need to learn them. Photography is learning and you need to learn yourself 70+ % of the time,,the more you know the better off you will be. Maybe get little closer to the focus of the image, google search, classes, youtube,, learnas much as you can. All the best EH Sep 29 14 01:42 pm Link Thank you both for all of the advice! I really appreciate it! Sep 29 14 02:12 pm Link Lee_Photography wrote: What do you mean by "Think long fingers"? Sep 29 14 02:16 pm Link Sep 29 14 03:17 pm Link Sep 29 14 03:23 pm Link |
