I love well composed images.  An image's composition gives the viewer's eyes some exercise.  Composition creates balance & contributes to the overall impact of the picture.  In particular, I like "extreme" proportions -- images that are cropped to be very tall & skinny (like this 18+ image) or wide & squat (like this 18+ image).

I'm also a big fan of putting the image subject off-center -- it creates a visual tension.

I'll do whatever it takes to make the image right.  I suspect that I use vertical compositions more than horizontal ones, but I'm always looking for whatever will be interesting.
