February 01, 2008 8:01pm Well said, Michael. Where others might see abuse I see a beautiful pairing of submission and domination, one where both partners are willing participants, and each derives pleasure from the event. The longing in your expression is gorgeous!
December 22, 2007 5:47am I believe that the struggle is not to over come desire
but to under stand the true nature of our desire.
With out passion, want and need man is only a flat surface which reflects its surroundings creating nothing. Our desires, the hands of our souls reaching out. The question we all face is whether we are reaching out to enrich or lives or to burn them to the ground. Many times we think that we are doing one when really it is the other.
December 21, 2007 11:27pm I myself believe the the desires on Man are fundamentally Evil and its only in reasoning of one's soul is where we overcome such desires , but that is another topic. At first glance this image Rocks .. hard. Art is suppose to generate a reaction and this does just that. I don't think anyone can just look at this shot and go humph. Great work on this and congrats to all
September 21, 2007 7:58pm On a very basic level before looking at the metaphor of the image, i think it is important to remember that not all the desires of man and woman fall into such easily defined categories. abuse is unwanted and unwilling. So many people find grate pleasure in dominance and submission. I my self enjoy both rolls in life and in relationships. So please be careful when slapping such images with the label abuse.
September 21, 2007 7:07pm You know, I'm not usually one to read deeply into artwork's meaning, but I don't think it's as simple as "abusing women" like the last comment. Man wearing dress controlling the "woman" coming from beneath it...call me crazy, but seems excellently crafted metaphor.
