Emma Bell is a British designer and creative consultant with three seasons at London Fashion Week under her belt as well as a string of collaborative projects and endeavours to her name. Partnerships and projects have included GM/Vauxhall Motors, Irregular Choice, Designers Against Aids, Soda Stream, Quartier21, Jodie Harsh and Lambrini.
The Emma Bell brand has received international press in publications including; Dazed and Confused, Elle Girl, WWD New York, Vice, The Daily Mail, WAD Paris, Time Out, Drapers, Super Super, Wonderland, Look Magazine, Notion, The Daily Express, Cosmopolitan, The Daily Mirror and Design Week. Additional media has seen Emma Bell’s work feature on TV shows including ‘SKINS’, BBC British Style Genius and ‘Frock Me’.
Emma Bell presents a colourful and challenging optical feast and has showcased at two solo catwalk shows at LFW, part of the Super Super Show LFW, NYC AGAINST HIV and Vienna Fashion Week. Her collaboration with UK cult footwear brand sees the sub-label “Emma Bell for Irregular Choice” stocked in boutiques globally.Emma’s work as creative consultant includes a stint as Creative Director, with Vauxhall Motors, of an exclusive media/consumer event “Emma Bell’s Vault for Vauxhall”. Other projects have included working as co-ordinator of the NYC AGAINST HIV event in the USA and direction of London based events as well as commercial and wardrobe orientated briefs.
In 2010 Emma worked as curator and creative director of ‘Fish and Chips, Twice Please?!’, a contemporary fashion and design exhibition hosted in the ‘freiraum Quartier21 INTERNATIONAL’ gallery in the MuseumsQuartier, Vienna. The exhibition collectively received just under 30,000 visitors and partners and sponsors included the British Embassy, VICE, The Federal Ministry for European Affairs and Le Meridien.
Recently Emma was awarded a place as Artist in Residence as part of the ‘Mino Paper Art Village Project’ in Japan. New pieces of work based around a collaboration between the traditional values of Washi and contemporary materials were showcased at the Washi Musuem in Gifu Prefecture as part of the exhibition ‘Let Momo Eat Cake’.
Emma is currently working as Resident Artist at the ‘Dream Community’ in Taiwan where she is developing a new collection of works alongside directing a series of fashion and textile workshops.
Collectively projects have seen partnerships and assignments with names including; Ladyhawke, Frankmusik, ITV,BBC, Little Boots, Charlie Le Mindu, Scottee, Notion Magazine, Samanda, PUMA and Ebony Bones.
