About Me

Currently based in Berlin and San Francisco, Felix Drobek was born on the Baltic coast of Germany. As a child, his father Klaus taught him how to work with a camera, developing his own film and printing in the darkroom.

A true renaissance man, Drobek was trained and practiced as a Doctor in Germany for seven years before realizing that focusing on what is beautiful in life was his true calling. His study of and understanding of the human body is apparent in his work, and his intense sensitivity to light and framing as well as a deep technical knowledge provides him a strong basis from which to realize powerful photographic imagery.

The general theme of Felix's work can best be described as hyper-realism. Always putting his subject on an optical pedestal, making them look their best and often bringing out subtle qualities in the environment are hallmarks of his work. Clean, bright, and balanced all desribe Drobek's perception of beauty.

In reviewing the scope of Drobek's work, it is clear that his abilities span many traditional boundaries. His sense of what makes photographic image compelling and durable is presented for your review on this site and covers a broad spectrum: Beauty, Fashion, Portraiture, Architecture - Felix adores beauty and enjoys making the world more beautiful with his art.

When asked what photography is to him, Felix will tell you, "capturing bits of light on things of beauty."
