Francisco Castro

I am an avid photographer in the Cincinnati area and am interested in expanding my portfolio.

I have been out of the photography scene for the better part of a decade, and only recently have rediscovered my passion for it. Although I don't think it's something I want to go into as a full time profession, I do want to see just how far I can take this, and am dedicated to seeing just how good I can get through practice, through getting inspiration from other people's work, and most of all, through following my own creative vision.

Because I am refining my skills, and because this is not a money making venture for me, I am accepting TFP/CD proposals from models and people who want to be models.

If you have any ideas for shoots I am very open to them and am prepared to follow through. I am willing to explore all styles and genres.

Oh, aside from taking photos, I'm also very good at Photoshop. However, I try to take photographs that require none or little editing. I don't want to use the excuse, "Oh, we can fix that with Photoshop.". I try to take photographs that stand on their own, even without the color and texture enhancements.

I'm from old school, before computers and we used film. As such, don't be surprised to see that where other photographers would take thousands of shots in a matter of hours, I would only take a few hundred. It's because I don't press and hold the shutter hoping that one of my shots is usable. I frame each shot carefully and take my time. The result is that even though I took less total, we still end up with more good shots.
