I shot my first photograph as a serious photographer on 9/29/2008, and I've been shooting ever since. My process is a fairly intuitive one, so I tend to not plan ahead too extensively. Sometimes I just have a particular location in mind, and I meet the model there and start shooting; other times it's a bit more involved than that, but I always try to keep it simple.
I generally don't work with hair or makeup artists, and I've never worked in a studio setting. Natural light is my favorite light, so more often than not you'll find me shooting beneath the open sky. And on those not-quite-rare-enough occasions when circumstances force me to shoot under a roof, I look for the biggest, brightest window and stick as close to it as possible. Only when no such window is available do my big lights come out to play.
Mostly I shoot creative portraits, but I've also done a couple of (thrift store) fashion shoots, the occasional wedding and maternity shoot, and several pinup shoots. Some of my favorite shoots have been those which were conceived at least in part by the model herself; there's just a different kind of energy at play when photographer and model are equal partners in the creative process. It goes without saying I'm very much open to ideas which are not my own.
I'm always looking for new models to shoot, so if you like what you see here on my profile, don't hesitate to drop me a line via Model Mayhem or my website (link above). I check my email frequently, so you can count on a response within 24 hours.
