I’m a Portland photographer who’s looking for energetic and creative models. My favorites are those who are spontaneous, resourceful and chock-full of personality. Being punctual and respectful are values I expect on both sides of the lens. Whenever possible, I prefer getting to know models before the first shoot. Generally, this allows time for face-to-face brainstorming and ultimately more personality to surface in shoots. For the past few years I have shot random street portraits in the Portland metro area. Within the last year, I have wanted a more substantial amount of time with models in order to collaborate, focus and follow through on ideas. This method seems to provide significantly better results than the 1 minute meet and greet on a busy sidewalk. I favor using my Mamiya C220/C330 but will use other film-based cameras to fit the situation. Black and white film has always appealed to me more than color but there are those instances when only color will do. Recently, I have branched out to nude photography to explore ideas that have interested me. Specifically, the light and textures in nude photographs attract me in a way that others can’t. My ongoing goal is to gather enough material from shoots to continue showing in various cafes and galleries within the Portland metro area.
