I was born and raise in a small town named Wallace, SC. Always fascinated with watching awards shows, the red carpet was my favorite. The elegant couture dresses sparked an interest that pulled me into the world of fashion. It was at the age of 14 that I first picked up a needle and thread, and started on my fashion journey. As a junior I took a clothing and fashion design class where I thought I was gonna learn many thing about fashion, but only learned how to use a sewing machine and sew a pillow. So I took it upon myself to learn more. I took to the Internet and buying and reading books. Upon graduating high school, I really didn't know if I could be a fashion designer, so I went to college at Johnson c smith university in Charlotte, NC. There I still continue to sketch, but didn't do any sewing. After one year there I decided to join the army. Unit supply specialist was my job, my first duty station was Fort Hood, TX. I continue to sew and better myself, then I deployed to Iraq. After surviving 11 months in Iraq, I left Texas and moved to Columbus, GA on Fort Benning. I continued to meet great people that would influence me and encourage me to better myself into a better designer. After working with Tavonya Jones and sharing ideas, we wanted to start a clothing line. In March 2007, being unsuccessful for tying to put together a fashion show, we decided to step back and plan a little more. Then, a friend of mine tole me about a fashion production that was taking place and gave me a number that would change my life. I contacted this guy and he ask me if I would lime to participate, and in September 2007 the Rhythm on the Runway help me to launch my first collection. While still continuing to advance with my military career, I became an Army recruiter in the Waldorf, MD. I decided to return to Columbus, GA to participate in the rhythm on the runway on Sept 13, 2009. There I felt like my designing ability did grow. If I had to sum up in 3 words what Black Orchid represented it would be: Style Simplicity Class

I did a photoshoot with one of your outfits the other day, and I must say it was an awesome outfit. I loved it...it was a ton of fun to model in.
Hopefully I'll get to wear your designs again soon! Keep creating wonderful stuff!
