"If it's not alluring, it's a waste of pixels."
Note: Please read to the end.
I'm Richard, a current writer and past newspaper photographer now working to improve and expand my portrait images. I'm interested in almost all types of images. My current primary interest is 1940-1960 vintage pinup images, inspired by the artwork of Gil Elvgren, the pinup photography of Bunny Yeager, and the publicity stills by the movie companies.
I shoot on location. To paraphrase a wise photographer, people don't live in front of white paper backgrounds.
Note that, if I have not worked with you before, I prefer you to be accompanied by a friend. Shall be happy to answer all questions.
Some projects I particularly want to do:
1. Recreate some of Olivia's pinup artwork as a photograph; especially Moulin Rouge. (see
http://www.adhocphotography.com/General … nRouge.jpg)
2. Vintage and modern pinups.
3. Many others. Just ask.
Questions I've been asked:
1. What are your (my) goals? My current ones (subject to change with minimal notice) are:
a. Get a smile from the viewer.
b. Create a glamour image that would make a priest forget his vows.
c. Create a landscape image that would receive an attaboy from Ansel Adams.
2. What is your style?
Still in flux, although I favor "classic" images over the "edgy." My view is that
most edgy becomes a gimmick that all too quickly and easily becomes outdated. Classic has staying power.
Yes, I'm fully aware that the edgy of some incredibly gifted artists/photographers has become classic.
In general, I like sharp, crisp images.
I'm also not fond of images that, I believe, make the model look ugly. If you want blood and bodies, there are some very talented photographers in this area who like to do such images.
A word about Friend requests (and Tags):
If you're in my area and you send me a Friend request (or a Tag), I naturally will assume it implies you would like to work with me. If this isn't the case, and you're just trying to accumulate as many "Friends" as possible, please refrain from hitting the Send key.
