My passion that is photography began over 20 years ago. I am an African-American photo enthusiast who has grown to love natural outdoor lighting. There is some beautiful background scenery in my native Northwest Florida.
What I really like to do is take photos of female models over age 21 who are starting out in modeling. And I recognize Model Mayhem as the premier vehicle for networking with models as we build our respective portfolios. I am always growing as a photographer. Maybe we can both grow together, having fun along the way.
In my opinion, it should not cost money to get started in modeling. Personally, I don't charge and I don't pay. I also don't use studios, studio lighting or retouching software. But I may crop or change color tones from time to time, just to add a little variety. I use natural sunlight almost exclusively. I typically put photos on a CD for the models who work with me and who just want simple natural shots.
Later, however, I strongly suggest that models work a professional photographer, unlike myself, who controls lighting and other aspects of photographic images when the models know for certain that they want to invest time and money into a modeling career.
I can drive to Tallahassee, and I have been to Pensacola once. So locations in and between those two are possibilities. I may also consider Dothan, Alabama. Right now my time is very seriously limited due to grad school. But I am sometimes able to squeeze in a few minutes here and there to shoot.
Best wishes to you, and thank you so much for taking the time to read.
