I attended the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago from 2006-2010.
I was 1 of 5 students chosen to have their couture cocktail dress be displayed at Old Orchard Mall which was made for breast cancer awareness. The breast cancer display was up October 2009-February 2010.
Also in October 2009, my creations were featured in the Dress Code Show during Chicago Fashion Focus. (20 of the best students from the various design schools are showcased in fashion week to show up and coming designers) On top of the show my finale band-tee dress was featured on WGN's mid-day report talking about what was to come in the shows.
I was also 1 of 6 students from my school chosen to create a look for Whole Foods for their Feed 100 campaign. The look I created was displayed at Macys on State Street in Chicago in the fall of 2009. This look was also featured during the One of a Kind Show in Chicago in December of 2009 and in FACTIO magazine winter 2010.
I launched the eco-friendly branch called American Trash at Kansas City's Fashion Week in February of 2012. We were featured on Fox 4 News in the morning as part of coverage of the fashion week shows. The American Trash Spring 2013 collection was debuted on September 7th at KCFW as part of the red carpet gala benefiting the Wayside Waifs charity. There was also an article in the Kansas City Star newspaper about the collection and what it's like to be a designer in KC.
A new American Trash collection was showcased at KCFW in February of 2013. Some of our pieces were showcased on 'Better KC' on KCTV5 News. The Pitch did a feature on my work as well as other designers in the area.
It is my goal as a designer to create garments that are Rocker-Chic and edgy with exceptional attention to detail. I am most proficient in corset making and repurposing materials although I also enjoys designing graphics for screen printing in my spare time which is incorporated into another clothing line which is soon to come. I also travels with touring rock and roll bands taking inspiration from the music and sometimes designing stage clothes or merchandise for the bands. In the end everything I do has a Rock N' Roll edge to it. It's my goal to get the different clothing lines going to hit different markets so in the end I can focus on what I love and do best which is Couture.
