I'm a face and body painter from Alameda, CA. Have mostly done face painting at parties, fairs, festivals. I body paint corporate events, promotional paintings, and conceptual/fine art designs. I use only cosmetic-grade supplies on skin. I'm looking for a variety of challenges to develop my body painting style /message / portfolio on a fine art basis. I'm a lifelong artist and have worked in graphics and animation too.
Searching for TFP models and photographers in San Francisco East Bay area. I'm looking for models, male, female, or TG, any race/ethnicity with personality and genuine expression. IMPORTANT: model must be VERY comfortable in their body and able to move freely. Self-confidence is and expressiveness is essential. sincere smile and ability to reach out and connect to the camera is essential. Smooth skin is very helpful. But in some cases, I have ideas for older models and models who may have some life mileage behind them. Pregnant tummies and plus-size models welcome. PG rated (bikini or drapes usually worn)- may eventually do semi to full art nudes.
Note if you'd like to model, I'll need to see a recent head shot and body shot (clothed is fine), have a clear idea of head, face and body hair, and know the location and size of tattoos and piercings. Sometimes I can happily work with or around these features. Sometimes, due to time and energy constraints, I can't, whereas they might be perfect for a different photo session. We all want to make the best use of our time and effort!
I host a body art jam 2nd Wednesday monthly at Rhythmix Cultural Works, Alameda CA 94501. Come and check it out, see how the models and artists interact, bring a camera! EMAIL me with questions at alana dot dill at gmail dot com If you're interested in jamming or being painted at another time, by all means contact me! :-)
As an artist, I'm interested in skin as the boundary and bridge between person and world, between the inner dreams and the outer reality, the relationship between myth, collective unconscious, and identity.
And if that sounds like too much philosophy... well, if you look nice, I want to paint you!
Credits: I'd like to thank my mom, my dad, my art teachers, my models, my paint suppliers, and everyone else who has made my wonderful life possible. Oh, and Charlie Dill, photographer and videographer, my sweet husband and webmaster. Is that the sort of credit you had in mind? :-D
