I am an artist who loves to draw the human body....with human nature, and its outer form, as the sole subject of my work. I use the body as a means of exploring psychological qualities, inner states, stillness, dynamic movement, and other aspects of human nature. There is a frequent reference to mythology, with the poses intended to convey the pyschological factors that the myth describes. In the larger graphite pieces, I leave off the faces so that the viewer has to look for all of the meaning in the body itself.
I work with live models during the entire process of developing ideas and sketches, and when working on the larger drawings and paintings. I am in constant need of live models, and prefer a mixture of body types to keep variety in the drawings.
