Couture Noir, is the best way to describe the work of Linda Friesen.
Her taste for theatrical themes and obsession with oddities will be shown with
a talent for tailoring, feeling for fabrics and an eye for detail.
Eerie & elegant, freaky & feminineâ¦.
In 2009 Linda Friesen graduated from the art academy of Maastricht as a fashion designer. During the years of her education her love for the gothic fashion style developed into a more mature one, one she now describes as Couture Noir.
After graduation she immediately began her couture label "Linda Friesen", next to her all ready existing lolita (the Japanese fashion style) label "Mirror".
In October of 2009 she entered into a fashion design contest during the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven and won the challenge.
Right after that she was asked to do the styling for a fashionshoot with Nicolas Guerin for the French magazine "Elegy". And some time after that again for Pierôt Coiffures for the Coiffure Awards 2010. As styling comes natural to her, Linda will also be available for styling assignments and may also be willing to create new garments for shoots.
About six months after her first collection, her graduation collection "Tea Injection" was shown, she came with a new collection called "LUX"
And another six months later she showed her collection "The Fledermaus" during Fashionclash Maastricht 2010, where she participated only a year before as a graduate.
On Model Mayhem Linda Friesen intends to find photographers, make-up artists, hairstylists and models, eager to create beautiful images with her work. She is open to a great many ideas and loves to participate in the creative process.
