Monique La’Shea born February 2, 1992 in El Paso, TX, she is the oldest of 3 children. At the tender age of 3 months old, her mother decided to enter her in beauty pageants. Winning several titles, including Our Diamond Miss of 1998, she continued to do pageants until the age of 8. Monique La'Shea was far from shy growing up. She was the most outgoing of her siblings. She was ALWAYS ready to strike a pose or talk to the camera or anyone who would listen. She then moved to Germany in 2000 because her father (LeVan F. Smith, Jr.) was stationed there ordered by the U.S. Army. This caused her to wonder away from pageants and modeling. In 2004, Monique La'Shea moved back to the U.S. living in Missouri. While living there she pursued doing modeling but was suddenly faced with scams, obstacles and adversities that were not in her control. Her mother fearful of her being let down or disappointed wanted her to focus on something else. That is when Monique La'Shea picked up sports, volleyball and track. After being in Missouri for only a short year, her father was then stationed to Winston-Salem, NC. This is where she completed middle school and graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School. In high school, Monique La'Shea was seen as goofy, outgoing and fun to be around. She was battling with wanting to model or focus on sports. At age 16, her Mother gave her the opportunity to go to a casting call that did not turn out too well. That sort of discouraged her and she began to make Volleyball and Track her main focus in life. Being good in sports, her senior year (2010) she was given the title most athletic. Once she graduated high school, she moved to Tallahassee, Fl to attend FAMU. While living there she began to face difficult decisions and decided to join the U.S. Army Reserves to help her further her education. While in school, she began to realize that modeling is her calling, her passion One of her main goals is to inspire other young woman to go for their dreams. She is now going for her dream, modeling. Motivated and dedicated, she is putting in the work to reach the top.
