I'm a competent photographer with a strong landscape & documentary bent, but I've got some experience shooting people and models, and I'm interested in branching more into this area. In particular, there are a number of ideas I have for shoots that require models to act as "part of the landscape" as I have ideas for which this is necessary. When I say "part of the landscape", I don't mean cliché "nudes in the woods" (though I am open minded), but rather, human interaction to add a missing element to the scenery. In particular I have some ideas for sort of "gothic" imagery, though I'm interested in many different image styles. I'm also generally interested in practicing model photography to develop a portfolio to attract paid assignments. I have shot a number of weddings on a barter basis with friends - trading my time for good 12 yr+ single malt and that kind of thing - and I'd like to develop more of a portfolio for this.

My personal background: I'm in my mid-thirties, I have a professional background / graduate training in Biochemistry, but photography is my passion. I've been shooting for ten years as a hobbyist / amateur. I have explored a variety of media including medium and large format film, but have returned to digital SLR photography as I have realized that I'd rather have the equipment act in a more transparent manner. I do still have a few antique cameras, and might be interested in exploring the use of them a little bit, but digital is now my preferred technique again.

I'm open minded with respect to assignments, and would be interested in doing free shoots to expand portfolio, with models interested in doing the same. I prefer outdoor work and I do not have a studio.
