Born in 1979 in Sevilla, Spain. Actually lives and work in The Netherlands.
Francisco Reina started his professional carrer as a photographer in 2006. His education in the fine art of painting, influences his photographic work. In a way he uses his colour schemes and his Sorong eye for retail in his images.
Francisco specializes in creating scenes that evoke a special theme using nature and arquitectural spaces as a main source for his photographs. He spontaneously turns the spectator into a witness who must strike what has just been seen from the record. The spectator has now become the author’s accomplice.
We come across an artist in search of a representation of the enigma, whose work is capable of speaking to a new Romanticism that does not reflect the triviality of man when faced with the magnificence and abruptness of nature, offering us in its place a scenographic, Orphic landscape suggestive of heavy metal, where immensity is precisely in the mind of those who behold it.
