About me

i am an active quadriplegic, paralyzed from the mid-chest down because of an auto accident. unfortunately, my injury also took my hands and with those my budding career as a freelance photographer and artist who had just started selling my paintings. i am now an artist, a writer, a speaker, a model, a philosopher, a student of oil painting, an amateur psychologist, a friend, an accomplished lover, a woman and a child.
i write a blog with the mission of helping newly injured SCI victims, partularly woman, regain their sense of self esteem, worth, image and confidence. hoping that by reading my story and learning how i got through it all then went on to flourish will help them realize their potential. that they are still beautiful, intelligent, artistic, sexy, athletic, WHOLE persons that can still be all they were and more with just some effort and perhaps a new way of accomplishing those goals.
i didn't start modeling until after my disability. my good friend and at the time my "peer counselor" asked me if i was interested in modeling adaptive clothing for the disabled woman at a benefit dinner and fashion show being put on by the Three Rivers Centers For Independent Living and Chloe magazine. after taking my turns on the catwalk, every eye and smile upon me, hearing that applause and camera flashes going off like christmas lights, i felt as if i was floating on atop a winged creature not riding in my wheelchair. ever since that first show i've been in love and although my modeling experience is small, my life experience is long and provocative.
I have two attendants that are not only familiar with every aspect of my care but are both talented MUAs and stylists. My fiancee and I have lived together many years and after I became disabled he became my main caregiver which turned our relationship platonic. However, he is indipesible to my career as he lifts me, carries me and puts me in my wheelchair. He also can assisst getting me into or onto different places to shoot from. He is also my current photographer and my driver. But all three will work with any photographer of my choice without interfering with the shoot.
I can work on location if it handicapped accessible, would absolutely LOVE to travel or we can shoot at my home. If you have any questions please ask.
