I am a self-taught artist and have been painting in oils for several years at my studio/flat in central Hackney, London. My initial inspiaration came from painters such as Eduard Manet, August Renoir, Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin and old masters such as Caravaggio and Rembrandt. Painters of whom I first began to read about and visiting galleries to see their works while studying an altogether different discipline. I like to hire life models both for the purpose of rehearsing my drawing skills and also to produce drawings from which I can then create an oil painting. Reclining poses are my favourite although I like to do standing poses whichever I am always careful to ensure that the model is comfortable. I much prefer the model to have a natural figure rather than to be surgically enhanced as I think the natural figure is more interesting to draw and paint. I wish to contact models who would be happy to pose as life drawing models and they could expect to be paid of course for their work.
