My work is inspired by everything around me. We are chalices that are filled with the experiences we've gone through, sights we have seen, scents from our pasts and memories of those we have encountered. Eventually our chalices fill, and what spills out is our own artistic brew. I grew up in Nairobi, Kenya and have always had a knack for Art. Even though I knew this I still went ahead and pursued my second love Science. After a few years of working as a Chemistry Researcher I came to the sudden realization that nature is beautiful but at a molecular level it's actually grey in color...how dull! I now know that my fascination with Science was always tied to Art. I wanted to know more about Schrondinger's cat, not whether it was really dead or alive but what color was it's coat... I love painting landscapes and abstracts and including the tiniest minute detail. I love bold and bright colors like that of the setting African sun on a horizon strewn with flamingos or skyscrapers (if you are in Nairobi:-) The duality of my homeland extends into my work. Just as you will find mountains and valleys, deserts and fertile lands, streams and rocky paths, flamingos or skyscrapers, you can also expect the same contrasts in my work, and the same lack of artistic boundaries in my colors, textures etc. Most of all, I love Art because Art is in me, and I feel that I need to share this sensation that constantly pulses through my veins with the rest of the World.
