I have worked as a photographer and an artist for the past 7 years. My work is devoted to simultaneously capturing the inner and outer world around me. A compelling image requires a great eye and great technique. But it also demands the heart and the vision of art. What creates lasting images and memories is a dedication to finding truth within your subject.

If art is the permanence of our culture, photography is the permanence of our families and ourselves. We can peer back through the decades and re-experience great events. We can see not only what we looked like, but also what was important to us, who we loved and who loved us. As generations pass, these photographs become the way we know our families and ancestors; they are treasured and irreplaceable heirlooms.

It is with this vision that I approach image making. While not all my images are of a serious nature, I strive to convey the true nature of the people I photograph. Portraiture is not about the photographer forcing their style upon their subject, but creating a pictorial dialogue through the relationship between sitter and photographer.
