About Me

Based out of the Greater Kansas City area; providing a wide array of photographic services, since 1992. After over 20 years as a businessman in my community, I can assure you of the utmost in professionalism. I expect the same from my clients.

My current passion is leaning toward commercial portraiture, and editorial work, while moving away from the traditional portrait studio.

Currently, I am seeking select individuals for test shoots to adapt my website and professional portfolio to my changing preferences  I'll be looking for people to do TFP/CD, in exchange for usage on my website and promotions. All specific details will be in the model release with terms agreed upon between model and photographer, prior to the shoot.

I shoot limited TFP/CD.  However, I don't mind working with novice or inexperienced models on Test Shoots, so don't be bashful about inquiring. This may be an opportunity to enhance your portfolio, especially if a particular concept I am promoting, has mutual benefit for us both.

If interested in Test Shoots, I will need your stats, a photo of yourself and an idea of types of shoots you may be interested in. I will select the best candidates, based upon the model's fit with the concept I'm developing. In order to communicate, I will need a phone number to contact YOU. I won't be dealing with your husband, boyfriend, Bouncer, baby-daddy or whatever, period. Serious inquiries only. You will receive a selection of edited, cropped images, on DVD, for your time.

COMPENSATION- Rarely do I pay models. Clients pay models.  If a company, or your agent arranges a shoot, it is the party for whom we are both contracted, that is responsible for dispersing compensation.

Some photographers do pay models; many of which are just starting out, amateurs, or simply doing it on the side. Some pay models so they can develop their own skills and learn their craft.

PORTFOLIO WORK-If you would like me to do portfolio work for you, message me with your statistics, tell me a little bit about yourself and a general idea of what you have in mind for your model session. We can then discuss my photography rates for your portfolio and schedule for mutual availability. Still, I am selective regarding my clientele.

FRIEND REQUESTS- If I sent a friend request, it is because I saw potential for a possible test shoot or project, or I feel  resources or services provided, may fill a current of future need, such as make up artists or stylists.

I don't approve all requests, don't be offended. I am not here to make another Facebook or social media page. I am here to use this resource to find individuals, where I believe there is a mutual benefit in working together. I prefer my friendslist to be a quick index of potential people to work with, people I actually know, and models with whom I have previously been hired or associated.

ABOUT ME-I am a past recipient of the Top Ten Photographers of Greater Kansas City Award, from the Professional Photographers of GKC, and the KPPA Top Ten Award. Through international print competition,  I have earned the Master of Photography Degree from the Professional Photographers of America.

By teaching, speaking, and through continued education, I have also earned the Photographic Craftsman Degree from the PPA.

I've always loved photography.  I grew up, working in my father's studio and camera shop, and as such, brought up Old School, before Photoshop, retouching negatives with a knife, lead and dye brush. I developed my own E-6 Transparencies and BW film as early as 12 years old. I know what it takes to make a quality image in camera.

After returning from  military duty in Desert Storm, I established my own studio in suburban KC., as a full time working studio.

I always strive to learn new things to keep motivated and love to think outside the box, and I also enjoy giving back, sharing what knowledge has helped me, along the way.

Please click on the Facebook link, above, to see many of our samples. If you would like a quick response, "Like" us on Facebook, and send a message. I get busy and don't log on to MM as often as I should.  Be sure to Mention M.M. in your message.

If you made it through all this, I appreciate your time.  I just believe in getting all the information out there, so you can make an informed decision. I look forward to working with you, lets have fun and make some spectacular images for your portfolio.
