With her love of meeting new people and the creative outlet hair design has to offer, Star truly loves her profession. Working in Albuquerque since 2007, Star has participated in fashion shows for clients like Black Market Goods, Craft Punk, and Generate.
After obtaining a degree in Fine Arts, Star continued on her path to becoming a creative professional in the beauty industry. Her love of painting lent itself to her work with makeup on recent photo shoots for Stunner of the Month and the Santa Fe VIP.
She has taken a special interest in perfecting her skills at cutting curly and wavy hair and has been trained extensively in how to manage anything from tight ringlets to loose waves. Most importantly, she makes it her objective to educate her clients, making bad hair days a thing of the past.
The hobby of people watching has developed Star's insight into the diverse personalities the city has to offer. Star gains ample inspiration to apply to her passion for everything hair.
She has perfected her cutting technique and is capable of flawlessly executing such skills as razoring, point cutting, and texturizing.
“I like to get to know someone as a person to see where their boundaries are and then I like to push those boundaries.” Like her own persona, Star loves to make her clients stand out in the crowd.
Along with cutting, Star likes to create dimensional custom color for her clients. With training in a multitude of color lines, both American and Italian, Star is confident that Davines is a company she can trust her client's color to.
With the belief that there is no right or wrong way to apply color, Star will do what ever it takes to ensure her clients leave the salon enthusiastic about their appearance. Star has expertise in advanced color techniques including, but not limited to, Flamboyage, Color Raking and Balayage, in addition to her exceptional foils and neat all over color application. If you suffer from a lack luster tress, Star can adorn your hair with extensions to add bulk or length. Although, if you would just like to add a little something extra, she can apply hair feathers in natural colors or they can be custom dyed for your delight. As a Vanity Specialist, Star believes your outward appearance can be a positive reflection of your inner beauty which she would like to accentuate to its fullest potential.
