Been there. Done that
Home of Charlie the wonder pup!
Soldier, artist, comedian. I'm just as comfortable behind the sights of an anti-tank weapon as I am behind the lens of a camera. And I even know how to string together a coherent sentence from time to time as well!
I'm a hard person to pigeonhole. I will turn up classical opera on the CD player just as loud as I'd turn up 80s pop music. I can tell the difference in wines and know which fork goes where in a large place setting. At the same time, I can put bullets into the "10" ring from 1000 yards away and do a passable impression of Grover from the Muppets to make my nephew laugh. Yeah, I'm a fun uncle...
I am a professionally-trained artist and photographer, and former US Army Captain. I also do occasional historical consulting work for books, magazines, films and TV shows. I have been featured on camera for several projects, most recently on the History Channel's show, "Mail Call," and lot of my writing and research has been in several magazines and books over the years. I have had lots of photographs published in many places, but most are non-model related. I'm trying to change that now, but it's tough to find models that don't flake out or feel that they're worth several hundred dollars a shoot (with no experience? Puh-lease!)
I'm currently looking to work with models outdoors in the Puget Sound area, especially for outdoor nude and non-nude work.
I'd be willing to also do a "TFA" which to me means Trade For Art. I'd be willing to do a high-quality pencil drawing for you from the series I shoot.
NOTE: I would NOT, however, be willing to draw from someone else's shots, though. I bring this up as I've been asked this more than once. If you want a drawing without posing for the images I want to shoot, I must get paid for that. For a trade situation, it must be in the best interests of BOTH parties. Lots of folks here (both models and photogs) seem to have problems understanding this simple concept.
I'm purely professional with models. I have NO interest in ANY model other than making good photos with them. I would never talk anyone into anything they don't feel comfortable doing. I'm married to an incredible woman and would never do anything that would put that in peril! I think anyone who'd demand a model not bring an escort must be hiding something...
BTW, while I do appreciate the ever-increasing number of contacts I have gotten from male models wanting to shoot with me, I have no plans to shoot with males at any point in the future. Accordingly, I will not be accepting friend requests from models I have no intention of ever working with. The same goes for the increasing number of people who have causes they somehow feel I should donate my time to. Sorry!
Support the Troops? Heck, I
WAS the troops!
