For me, photography is about the creation of art from start to finish. My medium of choice is MF black and white film and I do my own processing and printing -though I will shoot digital from time to time.

When it comes to shooting people my objective goes beyond making them just look good. I want the final prints to show part of who they really are, to capture a piece of their character, to, in that 1/125th of second that the shutter is open, catch a piece of the inside through what is visible on the outside.

I take my photography seriously but never to the point that it is not an enjoyable experience for all. Along these lines, I would like to work with a variety of subjects so as to gain, both literally and figuratively, different perspectives. When planning a shoot I have definite ideas based on the subject, but I am always open to their ideas because, after all, they know who they are better than anyone else.
