My name is Alexander Farrance and I am a photographer based in the South West.

My main aim towards my photography is that people never want to look at the same image twice, so luckily for me I'm entering into an industry that can constantly be redefined. It is my aim to always produce images that we're photographed by me, made by me. I want people to look at my photos and know, just by looking at them that I made them. I produced a work of art with my own personal look and feel.

My current experience lays within being self taught. I am proud of this fact because yes, some of the images I produce aren't my best but they are at a level that isn't usually expected from someone who is self taught. I feel as if I get better and better everyday, but I'm currently gaining my experience in studio and set photography as that is the area of the industry I hope to dominate.

I think it's important to also consider everyone I end up working with as a stepping stone. Regardless of whoever they are, I consider them a rung in the ladder. To me, it's not about how much you're earning. It's about how much fun you're having and that fact that you can get paid for it. In all honesty, I could take photos for the rest of my living days and not have a care in the world. The fact I want to help an industry that has the entirety of my heart in it is also a bonus for me.

I'm not embarrassed to say that I am very confident and free to be around. I like unlocking the potential of anyone infront of the camera and really bringing them out to shine. That can only be done by being very confident and well spoken alongside being easy to speak to. Aggression never produces effective results, however wayward thinking and sweet, approaching ideas always produce the more natural product. It's easy to see if someone is faking a smile or pretending to cry. Why not work with the subject to expose the absolute formula of perfection.

In relation to why I joined Model Mayhem; I hope to work with as many people as I can. I wouldn't mind giving the rookies a boost and with the more well known models, learning something from them. Also, I feel as if Model Mayhem is a forum that allows for professional searching and resourcing of appropriate models for whichever project. It allows a producer to see the diversity offered by a subject on a much larger scale.
