About Me

I am semi-professional, have completed many assignments, working together with my close friend a cousin David Adkin, mainly corporate events, charity balls and Multi-disciplined long distance sporting events. Whilst I love and enjoy photography with un-equalled passion, I am CEO at a Commercial Finance Broker and find the two positions blend incredibly well and create some fantastic opportunities, from both perspectives.

Recently, I have been engaged on a fashion shoot for a jewlery company in London, involving five models (both male & female) This assignment was completed at pace as the shoot had to be re-touched and delivered the next day. The client required an "edgy - funky" feel and wanted this to be reflected by the models and the manner in which they wore the jewlery too. In this respect I was given artistic licence and am pleased to say the client and the models were 100% delighted with the results.

Although I have a small studio, I also have a full "mobile" set up with comprehensive lighting & backgrounds. Additionally, I have full on site dye-sub printing facilities which I use for most events. (subject to enviroment & power) I use only professional quality Canon cameras and lenses.

Going forward, I am retained as official photographer for all the Lactic Rush, Lactic Fallout & Nuclear Burn events which take place in Brentwood Essex which gives me great exposure locally and also presents a real photographic challenge. Additionally, I have several private functions booked and regularly get engagements by BR Motor Racing to cover their mortor racing track days. (great fun but can be a test of endurance when cold and raining!!!)

Whilst I have two very attractive daughters and a youthfull fit wife, who you would imagine would provide modeling services adhoc and readilly, in reality I find as soon as there's an intonation the cameras are coming out, they are off "shopping" and its just me and the dog - who I must admit is not in the least camera shy and has proved very willing in the past!!!(see my website for the results)

Without exception all the models I've worked with have complimented me on my ability and enthusiasm, I think because of my position in the finance world, I have the confidence and strenghth of character to provide direction without being rude or abrasive.

Having seen some of the work completed by other photographers on this site, I now seriously want to increase my portfolio work and have so many ideas and locations that I want to eplore, (absolutley nothing tacky or sleazy) but find lack of availability to models (not people that will "give it a go") very frustrating. If you have modelling ideas and are looking for a photographer with passion, enthusiasm and will NEVER let you down - you've just stuck gold -get in touch.

Finally, if you want to see some of my work please have a look at my website: www.melfordhamphotography.co.uk or send me an email.
