I've never been one to use backdrops, studio lights and typical portrait styles. Nothing against these kinds of things, of course. They are just not what I personally want to do. They do not do justice to my personal vision.
My ultimate goal is to create works of art that embody dream-like visions, and I am looking for people that are willing to be "part of the process", part of a work of art -- not just a photograph, and not just a portrait.
I'm flexible when it comes to ideas but often have a general idea of what I want to do depending on the model's individual look, and I am always looking for something new and unique to shoot. I will do TFP/TFCD if I feel that the model’s look and/or ideas will compliment my portfolio. I do request that models sign a simple model release form.
I'm a BFA student with a focus on the graphic arts as well as photography. I have worked in the field of graphic design (print & digital media) for over 7 years, but have been focusing more on photography in the recent years. I have also dabbled in experimental and historical and film photographic processes.
I am a non-commercial photographer, which allows me to grow in my creative field. My use of post-processing can range from simple touch-ups to highly artistic manipulations, depending on what I think will work for the specific photograph.
I don't use any studio lights but instead turn to the use of natural light for my photographic style.
My artistic goal is to capture imaginative ideas and put them into photographic images, and to expand on everything from techniques to styles....To express concepts, emotions, contradictions, and beauty. I'd like to think that my own style is highly varied. I love shooting people of any type; from people in their natural and expressive states, musicians, to portraits. I'm down for almost anything, especially if I can put my own creative twist on it.
