Formerly an Art Lecturer, I am an exhibiting artist/painter/illustrator/photographer living in Sheffield. I am looking for models to collaborate with me in producing visually exciting art work, in any medium, primarily through photography. I use photographs mostly as reference material for my paintings, but occasionally an image stands out as purely photographic.

At the moment I am develping ideas based upon the poetry of Baudelaire, which is dark, sensual, erotic and evocative. I have a low-tech approach using minimal tungsten or available light to create a mood. I no longer have a studio, so my work is shot in my apartment. I am not interested in brightly lit pin-sharp glamour shots, but art nudes which are stimulating aesthetically, whilst being expressive, sexy and poetic. If something I see excites a reaction in me I hope that it will excite my client.

As a painter, I see no merit paintings which are photographic, but as a photographer I see every point in photographs which are painterly! I love dancers, they one of my passions, but the models I seek should be slim and well toned so that I can see underlying structures beneath the skin. They should also be happy with their nakedness and like the models of Rodin be relaxed about how they are posed without too many inhibitions.
