About Me

Founded in 1965 by Mr. Warren Hughes, Theatrix started out as a little shop called “Catherwoods” on Yonge Street within the “hippie district”. Over time, the company expanded its theatrical focus and moved its shop to the theatre district on King Street West. Theatrix was purchased by the DeVita family in the 1990’s and began to tap into new markets including costume rentals for special events, weddings and corporate promotions. In 2008, Theatrix moved to its current location on Geary Avenue and was purchased by Gina Anki and Mark Manthei in September 2010.
