I'm Leo, a first year design student at AUT, City Campus.
I was born in New Zealand, and raised in the US.
As I progress through my degree, I have thought about beginning to create a structure for myself to work with. One of the priorities is to start and keep a level of "professionalism" with how I present my work.
I am in the process of splitting my portfolio website, atelierleoli.com, into a brand website as well, to document my garments and future garments to be made.
While outlining these steps, the idea of working with a model seemed to be the best approach in achieving this environment of establishment. In particular, I'm looking for models that come close to luxury fashion industry "standard".
For women, I'm looking for
Height 1.75-1.8 m
Weight: 55-67 kg
Height 1.78-1.82 m
As a design student, I'm passionate about the fashion industry. I aim to drive and contribute to the evolving field, and I aim to firmly establish myself as an influential designer.
I would most like to find and work with a model on a relatively long term basis. This would help, as I would get to understand certain fit issues and other things that can be applied for future projects.
The school year runs from March to November, and I return to the States to intern for Opening Ceremony in New York in the summer (Nov. to March). I'll try to work as efficiently as possible, and keep fittings to a bare minimum (fitting times are flexible, I can work with the models' schedule).
Essentially, I'm looking for a model(s) (female and male) to make clothes to his/her specifications, and to have the model wear it for documentation shoots, and to critique days (not always). I will basically pay the model in clothes.
Along the way, it would be great to connect with some photographers who can collaborate with me on shoots.
