I am a Grand Manner Portrait Artist and Muralist. I began studying art at a very young age. A mural I painted at the age of 16 in 1968 has been declared a historical landmark by the City of Pasadena. I apprenticed under Jirayr Zorthian who apprenticed under Pablo Picasso. I also apprenticed under, and collaborated on several projects with renown Chicano Artist, Gilbert "Magu" Lujan.

I was dubbed the Father of Chicano Minimalism by Gregg Stone, Curator at the Orange County Center for Contemporary Arts. My work has been compared with that of the masters of the Renaissance. I am well versed in many painting styles of art, but Realism is the style most requested for private commissions.

I prefer to use live models when painting murals with compositions that include people. There is a noticeable quality when live models are used vs working from photos. I utilize models (primarily nude) for figure drawing classes and studies.
