About Me

I always knew that I wanted to be a part of the beauty industry but in the beginning, I didn't know exactly what it was that I wanted to do . When I was only 16 years old and in high school, I enrolled in cosmetology courses and stared to learn to cut hair. It didn't take long before I discovered that hair was not my thing. My favorite part of the course was the week that we learned color theory and how to create fake bruises on each other. From that point I knew I wanted to pursue make up artistry, but I wasn't sure where to start. As a senior in high school, I was fortunate enough to get a job working as a part time artist for Sephora Inside JCP. Sephora taught me so much more than I ever expected. I was lucky enough to sit through their "Science of Sephora" course (not many artists get to experience this) and establish a great foundation of make up knowledge. Through out my year and half of working with Sephora, I was able to perform different types of make overs on many, many different types of clients: all ages, all races, all sexes. I was also able to work with some of the most talented and creative women I know. Each one of them taught me something different. From that point I decided to further my education by becoming a state licensed esthetician (skin care specialist). While training as an esthetician, I developed more artistry skills and also became very knowledgeable on the science of human skin and how ingredients found in make up and skin care affect it. In my humble opinion, it is vital that a make up artist knows just as much about her canvas as she does about her tools and becoming a licensed esthetician filled me in on a lot of those details that you just don't learn from watching you-tube videos. After my graduation, I spent a year working in a very popular, high end day spa as a make up artist and esthetician. At this point in my career, with a great foundation built and much experience acquired, I feel confident and ready to go into make up artistry for myself and start making a name for my skills and abilities. It is my dream to one day work in print and commercial advertising in my area, but I am equally excited to have the opportunity to work on brides and prom queens. I am so thankful for my family, my friends, and my sweet husband who have all inspired me, and encouraged me to make my dreams a reality. I am so excited for what the future holds for me and my business and I can't wait to get started on making women look and feel their best. Here's to a very beautiful beginning!
