When Nyla met the love of her life, he opened her heart and she discovered magical abilities for fashion. Nyla’s heart guided her, to create a dress, which drove a passion that she had not known before. After a year of pondering the idea Nyla had a spiritual experience ,which lead her to the door of Helen Lefeaux’s, School of Fashion. After Nyla graduated in 1998, she continued developing her skills in, couture beadwork, embroidery, draping, tailoring and couture pattern making.
Nyla is a Vancouver Designer who creates one of a kind clothing from Bridal to Avant Garde. She specializes in custom beadwork using an array of beads.
Since 1999 - Nyla has been creating custom pieces for her private clientele. She has been commissioned to do evening and bridal beadwork ,for well established Vancouver designers, such as Manuel Mandoza and Catherine Regher.
2002 - Nyla made her debut at the Convergence Fashion Show with the likes of Yumi Eto and Zonda Nellis.
2003 - Fashion shows for Gloss Productions, Snapshot 48 Hours, and Vancouver Fashion Week. Nyla’s fashions were highlighted in The Globe and Mail, The Vancouver Sun, The Georgia Straight, Fashion File, MTV Canada, and City TV Breakfast Show.
2004 - Nyla launches
www.houseofnyla.com with a follow up show, Fashion Rocks Vancouver covered by Fashion Television, MTV Canada and featured on Discover Russian.
2006- Gothic Beauty Magazine (Issue 19) features House of Nyla...Canada's Next Top Model,Vancouver Sun,MTV ,CBC Radio.
