With a passion for fashion, I fulfilled my dreams of becoming a fashion designer when I graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT)
I was prepared to put my knowledge and experience into practice by applying and working with various designing companies in New York.
I was tasked with managing design showrooms and assisting the design and trim departments.
But after the fashion industry suffered a major setback due to the recession period, I knew I had to look at other avenues to give my career a takeoff.
When I was on vacation in Guyana in July 2011, I got the opportunity to launch my evening wear collection, ‘Modern Elegance’ at the Guyana Fashion Weekend. With less than three weeks to prepare, I successfully completed 22 dresses in time for the fashion show after hiring three seamstresses to work on my designs.
I am currently in the process of putting together a Look Book and will be needing to reaching out to all the great models in the New York area, where I currently reside.
NOTE: Since I am a new and upcoming designer all our team work is going to be TF.
