Francisca da Silva was born in The Netherlands and moved to Portugal in 2003. She had always had an interest in photography and when she bought a DSRL camera in 2006 Francisca decided to apply herself seriously to this art. Her field of interest is wide so her work is very varied. It ranges from macro photography (mainly insects and flowers), wild-life (birds in particular), abstract themes, minimalism, street scenes and people.
An autodidact in many fields, she developed her skills and style by reading, experimenting and going on shoots with expert photographers. She now has her own studio and has been focusing on models. Her recent work includes portraits, full body pictures as well as fine art nude photography. To work with various models, Francisca regularly goes on shoots in Portugal, England and Ireland.
Always eager to learn more and very motivated to perfect her technique, Francisca is driven by the idea that “you can always do better”.
