Hi, I'm David. I'm a story-teller.

Available light and a 50mm lens. What could be better? Then again, many of my images are highly processed...or as I prefer to think of them, lovingly crafted. Some simply couldn't exist without Photoshop or CGI. The point is not to create something that seems artificial, but something that seems plausibly real or else offers a different way of looking at things.

Most of the time you'll find me writing or otherwise being involved in indie film and music videos. Photography is for me its own distinct expression of a creative need. I think of my images as snapshots from unmade films (I want to further develop that fusion - creating a master image, but with an accompanying filmed version, expanding the timeframe and narrative) and favour working with people who in the truest sense are collaborators and trust me enough to reveal themselves rather than their performances.

Ultimately, I like authentic, not coy. The fall of light on the human form. And finding beauty and dignity in the human condition, in whatever ways it manifests itself.
