My interest in the visual began while I was a teenager. I began performing in community theatre musicals, enjoying the new worlds I created. That feel for the new sent me into the US Army, to Germany, back home, and then to college. I earned a degree in Theatre, and focused most of my work on costuming. In Asheville I've been involved in the community theatre, by costuming, acting, and directing. The thrill of moving the actors and scenes around on the stage has spilled over into my photography life. I most enjoy catching people during their "in-between" moments, where they are less guarded, less directed, but more beautiful. I like to use natural light and natural situations (both urban and country) when possible. However, I am learning to manipulate light in a studio situation, to best effect.
