I started started taking photographs in Eugene, Oregon during a class with landscape photographer Art Sinsabaugh, followed by extended travels and living in Mexico, Chile, Asia, and the villages of Nepal.

During a long career in public health and city planning, I took photographs of my travels, friends, family, and my canine companions on outdoor adventures. Recently, I worked with professional models to create fine art portraits. A photo was selected for a LightBox Gallery exhibit, and publication in an international photography magazine.

I'm inspired by drawing and painting by Matisse, Picasso, and Wyeth; and, especially, classical photography by Stieglitz, Brandt, Cartier-Bresson, Kertesz and Bravo.

I love to use natural light to create portraits in color, and black and white, and find beauty among unusual and ordinary people, and our changing landscape. Recently, I traveled to the Caribbean and Brazil, inspired by the people, music, vibrant color, and natural wonders.
