I am an Australian born visual artist working with photography and video, based in Germany.

My current series, 'Lux', for which I am searching subjects, draws on the sincerity of the romantic mode to reflect on the emotional effects of modernity, specifically, the new roles of technology in forming emotional connections. These portraits carry an inherent double voyeurism - the electronic device that captures the gaze of the subject, and that of the viewer/photographer.

'Lux' greift auf die Aufrichtigkeit der Romantik als Ausdrucksform zurück, um sich so den emotionalen Wirkungen unserer Zeit anzunähern. Von besonderer Bedeutung ist hier die neue Rolle der Technologie bei der Formung emotionaler Bindungen. Die hier gezeigten Portraits tragen einen ihnen inhärenten, doppelten Voyeurismus in sich - einerseits das elektronische Gerät, welches den Blick des Subjekts einfängt und festhält, andererseits der Blick des Fotografen bzw. Betrachters.

I am based in the Baumwolle Spinnerei in Leipzig. The windows are very large and thus I must wait until evenings to do my shoots. Just to dispel any clichés, I am a professional artist who exhibits regularly, not a creep with a camera. I typically use an analog large-format camera, with polaroids as tests. Shoots for this series go for no more than 1.5 hours.
