Tanner J is a mostly self-taught makeup artist from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Growing up he always loved watching people do their makeup, and he began with experiment with drag makeup because of his love of the reality TV show, RuPaul's Drag Race. Once he started getting compliments on the makeup he could do he decided that he wanted to make a career out of makeup, so during his senior year at the University of Minnesota he began being the apprentice to the very talented makeup artist and hair stylist, Nicole Fae. While working with her he learned makeup and hair-styling techniques from hands-on experience at weddings, photoshoots, music videos, films, fashion shows, and the list continues!

Tanner loves to do makeup because he enjoys the feeling he gives to his clients when they see themselves with makeup on. His view on makeup is to bring out the beauty his clients already possess.

His talents include makeup, airbrush makeup, hair styling, updo's, period looks, bridal makeup, natural makeup, and drag queen makeup.
